Nothing at all wasn't able to pick up the car because of information being withheld from me. Almost ruined my entire trip
My rental was $40 more than I was originally quoted
Needed to change my reservation, but was unable to get a hold of the branch. Called national team, but they were unable to assist. Bad customer service all around.
Pros: At vehicle drop off, the staff was very helpful and friendly. They were able to fix our credit card issue and get it back in my name and charge my card.
Cons: Arriving at the Richmond Alamo, I was told my credit card could not be read by the machine, it did not take chip read and supposedly my card strip wasn't working correctly. She attempted a few times then I was told she was not able to manually input my number. I was told to provide another card. I presented my debit card which I was told she could not use that as a form of payment. So now being very worries I am in Richmond with no rental car, my gf used her card to hold the car during the trip and upon returning to Nashville, the gentleman was able to slide and read my card and make it work just fine. My gripe is had it not been for my gf being there with a credit card I would have flown 3000 miles to not have a car. I had two forms of payment on me including several forms of ID and military ID, and I also used my credit card online to hold the car. So why I needed to rescan my card at Alamo to get my car in the first place is odd but then to have my card in person, with ID and still be denied really frustrated me. Was not satisfied with that experience at all. Noone wants to feel like they may not have a rental car being on the complete other end of the country.
Pros: Nothing, we got in at midnight and just wanted to go to our hotel but all the staff at the airport had already left and locked us in the parking garage. We were left stranded in a town we didn't know well and had to scramble for a late-night uber (of which there were almost none).
Cons: Someone could've been there to let us out so we could go safely to our hotel

Cons: Alamo cancelled my reservation. I received a voice message on my phone when I was making my connection at O'Hare. When I arrived at Richmond they did nothing to help. I called the Alamo Customer Service number - would be on hold waiting for over 20 minutes each time I called. The only way you could get someone to answer a call was to choose the "Make a Reservation" option. Appears like the only time they would answer the phone is when they think they were going to get money. I had 4 different times when someone said they would call me back with some information. No one ever called me back. The manager at the Richmond Alamo counter provided me with no options. I had to press them to get information about being compensated for my Uber charges. I tried to get a car the next day and they still didn't have any available. With today's technology there is no excuses on why they could not have contingency plans in place to ensure they have enough cars based on the number of reservations they have booked. I will never rent another car from Alamo or Enterprise again. In Richmond they had 15 to 20 SUV's in the garage, when I asked about them then said that they were reserved. If my reservations got cancelled because I booked through Kayak and had a lower rate I will need to rethink about using Kayak. Having no car for the 3 days made it very difficult doing business and also on my client you had to chauffer me around the entire time. Alamo definitely demonstrated to me that they don't care about my business.

Pros: Nice to be received with a smile. The line in Richmond was backed up about 12 deep. Team of 2 handled it well.
Cons: All good collaboration during this difficult time was super.
Cons: I arrived from my flight at midnight with tired children while waiting out in the cold, first telling me they didn't have my vehicle, then finally something came up which wasn't the vehicle class i had picked and to top it off gave it to me with a huge mess and had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring it. Horrible experience. Don't get how they allow you to make a reservation then not have it when you arrive to another state on vacation

It took 5-minutes to pick up the car. Very good customer service at this location. I was very happy with my rental. I just wish the price of rental cars wasn't so high. I'm looking forward to the day when the prices drops back to where they were pre-pandemic. Hopefully!

Pros: Staff not unfriendly, but not friendly either.
Cons: Seems like I ALWAYS have to wait to pick up my rental - an opportunity for improvement. Another suggestion is for staff to go over basic functions of the vehicle before turning it over to driver (e.g., all audio functions, locations of 12V/USB/Bluetooth ports, gear shift function, adjustment for lights, wipers, mirrors, sun roof/shade, etc . New vehicles have so many new features and moved/redesigned standard features that it is overwhelming for a lot of older drivers.

Cons: How about actually having the vehicle we reserved available? We had a group and birthday party plans that were completely ruined because the vehicle we reserved was not available.
Pros: The drop off was easy and efficient
Cons: I was told that they did not have my car I reserved, then they did have it. It had no gas, so I had to wait for it to be filled up. They didn't say anything about a $200 deposit, and they kept changing the price I paid while I was there.
Pros: Wasn't allowed to rent car because I have a NC drivers license
Cons: between polices and their needs! Due to The environment that we are in with this Virus I'd 2020 I can not get into the DMV to change my drivers license to VA! But If I were traveling and my car broke down and I need a rental ! This would not happen at this location!?
Pros: So I didn't get to rent the car because of a rule about the drivers license not being VA! I was told that I could not rent !

Great car and great price. No problems at all
Overall no big issues just a few small ones - vehicle had a slow leak in a tire, TPMS sensor would occasionally drop off, backup camera was flaky, distinct smell/odor. Personnel at Budget were nice.
Adjusted time of rental and adjusted fee as well. First car had mechanical problems. Exchanged with no questions asked and done so promptly. New vehicle while clean did smell of cigarettes.
Cons: Better communication! Had no idea Avis bought Budget: - no one to call at the desk phone just rings - at the counter you find out about the change - Returning car was in unorganized - car rental company should let the customer about insurance by third parties vs their own prior to rental

Cons: Budget gave me a Toyota 4Runner that had previous glass breakage. The right passenger window had previously been broken out. However it was not fixed properly. So there was loud wind noise while driving.
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: It took two hours to get the car AND IT WAS NOT THE CAR WE RESERVED! These folks knew we were coming and it still too TWO HOURS to get any car available. I need a REFUND!

Cons: Nothing. This was a great experience. The gentleman that helped me out was very professional and patient. I highly recommend this location.
Pros: I made the reso with 48.00 rate, I released I made a mistake seconds after I made it. I called and switched the location, I was told on the phone I would not be charged a new rate. I have the call transcripts, date, time and person. I get to richmond and yep you charged me the higher rate. I am not happy and I am letting American Express deal with it. I do not have time to be ripped off by companies.

Cons: I reserved a large SUV and called two days early to ensure the car would be ready and move the pick-up and return a few hours early. When I arrived they did not have a large SUV and offered a Suburban. I was okay with that but they said there would be an additional charge, and I would need to bring it back a day early or pay a fee. Surprises at pick-up usually aren't good.

A rating of the three customer service individuals (counter, pickup and return) would be exceptional; polite, professional, courteous and truly acted like they enjoyed their job. Only wish I had names to pass on.
They closed early and I didn't get my car
Got in to Richmond about 9:00 pm. Dollar was closed, went to Hertz affiliate. Three ahead of us, one guy working. Took 20 minutes to get the LAST car they had. Car was OK but no one told us it had an EX Pass transponder for the toll roads. We had no change , blew through a toll gate. Dtilll waiting for the bill.

Everything about the rental was excellent. Definitely would rent again and refer you all.
Three rental agencies jammed into one small booth in the parking garage with a grumpy mumbling agent and long lines. Somehow ended up with a downgraded car at an increased price. Hertz/Dollar, never again. I'll Uber everywhere first.
They closed just as the flight arrived and we missed the rental. Had to get a taxi and make other arrangements.

Cons: Thrifty service agent was unpleasant like she hated every minute of dealing with customers and I could have done without that. Was directed to another car rental place in the rental car area (I can't remember which kiosk, Avis maybe?) but then the envelope they used was Dollar, very confusing. No car was ready even though it didn't seem busy. We stood around for 30 minutes!!! Finally they brought us the car, which I found out was a 7 passenger SUV "recreational style" while I thought I had rented a full size SUV. I was told you can't rent a full size SUV on Thrifty.com. Such a bummer but we made due. There was melted candy below the window in the 3rd row seat on the left. Disgusting. How did they not see it? Never again with Thrifty!!

Cons: Depending on the time of day you land, one person might be managing 2-3 different rental desks (as has twice been my experience). The first vehicle I was given on this particular trip (a Jeep Cherokee) reeked of cigarette smoke and was not in great shape inside or out.

Cons: The car smelled like cigarette smoke covered up with old lady perfume.
Cons: Pick up employee was nice. We got the SUV and it had a cracked bumper, severely scratched bumper and a low tire warning. No one around so I had to go back into the terminal to exchange the vehicle.
Pros: When I got there there were nine people in line with one person at the counter. I ended up going to Avis and paying $30 more, otherwise I would've waited in line for hours.

Sometimes difficult to find the needed paperwork - Kayak? Priceline? Where?
It was easy to pick the car up and the staff was very friendly. I wasn't, however, crazy about the fact that they gave me a Prius (I wanted a compact not a hybrid). Drop off was a little tough to figure, I think you just need better signage. All in all, a pretty good experience.
Pros: the car was nice once we finally got to it
Cons: it took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get into our car with a pre-existing reservation. the first desk lady put us on a "Waiting list". we then checked out with her only to get sent to another slow line for that desk person to give us a car. little communication or apologize for what was delaying us. all this and my price for the rental was super high. not happy at all

Very smooth online booking and pickup. I highly recommend Avis
I booked a rental car literally one month in advance and when I showed up to the location, they casually let me know that they didn't have any such cars available for me and that I would have to wait four more hours until the next one became available. I was shocked and disappointed at the level of service and care provided to me and will not be using their service in the future.
Didn't have the suv size I needed. Gave me a small crossover that was crowded and uncomfortable, and took an hour to pick up the vehicle.

Cons: We arrived at Avis counter which was among many companies. Only Avis had a long line, twenty customers deep. We cancelled the reservation (very easy to do thanks to the Kayak app) and took Ubers everywhere
Cons: Pick-up was terrible: only two staff for 30-some renters in line and nobody at the inside desk, we had to wait over an hour in the hot garage to get our car.
Cons: The car tire was unsafe. The tire leaked air overnight and was completely flat when I saw it in the morning. Thank goodness it did not blow out while I was driving. I called their Roadside Service but was on the phone waiting for a veeeerrrryy long time. I tried to change the tire myself but the lugnuts were on too tight. I had to ask a gentleman for help. So did not end up using the Roadside Service (which I likely would have been charged for). Avis charged me $200 for a new tire and did not inform me before doing this. There was absolutely no damage to the tire rim or car, I was not in any accident. I will write to Avis and complain and request the $200 back. Luckily, I HAVE PHOTOS and VIDEO of everything, which is what any car renter should be doing to record their experience.
Pros: Staff at drop off was OK. Pick-up was a nightmare, a delay of 2 hours between getting in line to the car. Awful!!
Cons: Faster pick up and more car options

Pros: Car was nice and comfortable
Pros: Easy drop off
Cons: Reservation wasn't available when I picked up the car, I had to wait an hour.
Cons: It needs to be more clear that a person's bank card with Visa logo and chip, will not be accepted to rent a car.

Pros: Staff was great! I've rented cars in several locations recently and they were the best. Car was nice, but there was some stuff (hair clips, a lighter and a bottle of clear fluid) left in the car.
Cons: The Easy Pass could have stuck to the windscreen better. It feel off while driving several times and left me feeling around for it because I needed it.

Pros: I had change in plans and they modified my reservation over the phone. No questions asked.

Pros: Got "upgraded" for free
Cons: I reserved a small car because I was going to drive 3 hours from Richmond, VA to Raleigh, NC. When I picked up the car all they had left was a Suburban. Not the end of the world, I can still drive the big truck, but made parking next to impossible, and cost me at least double to pay for the gas used on my 3 hour drive.

Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: I ordered and paid for a full size car and received a compact car, staff insisted it was full size. a nissan kick is a compact car. pickup at the airport was a little confusing. When I went to return the car at 8:45 the office was closed and when i called the company number no one answered the phone. after 45 minutes someone finally showed up to take us to the airport to check the car in and give us a ride to the airport.

Pros: The staff was amazing! When we learned it was not at the airport we were concerned, however, we should not have been. A quick call (when we landed early) and moments later someone was there to pick us up. The driver was incredibly personable and professional. Arrived at the office and our car was "spiffed" up and ready to go. The staff could not have been better or more efficient. I would definitely use this service in Richmond again!
Cons: We had an excellent experience. When we returned the car, someone drove us to the airport in the same car that was packed up. Super happy!

Cons: You could have answered the phone, brought me to rental center, and given me a car. I was never even able to connect with a person or receive a car. I had to uber.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating to me, feel like they are way better than other companies here.

Pros: Will never use this company again. And the fact that you allow them to post on your site is reprehensible. I had nothing but issues to start with they moved during the night (their words) before I picked up and they had not left a forwarding address until I called. It appears they are at the airport but they are not which adds to issues. I blew a tire on the way to my destination and they were no help. I called the car manufacturer to get a tow and paid for the tire replacement myself. There is also large scratch on vehicle which I am sure will be an issue. I have already turned over to my insurance company to handle. Clearly something hit the car and caused tire to blow. ABSOLUTELY NO HELP WHATSOEVER. SHADY COMPANY. DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Cons: NO SUPPORT. SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT WITH THIS PLACE. NOT SURE WHAT IT IS BUT IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR TIME. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. NEVER AGAIN. CAR WAS ACTUALLY NICE AND NISSAN WAS WAY BIGGER HELP WITH TIRE ISSUE THAN ACTUAL RENTAL COMPANY. INEPT AT BEST.
